R&D Lab Technician needed for an immediate temp to direct role opportunity just outside of Westborough, MA.
This person will support the pharma and biotech industries working on development of new membranes to be used in filtration products for several different applications.
Working closely with engineers, the R&D Technician will be involved in preliminary data analysis, communication with engineering as well as the upkeep of prototype membrane equipment.
The right person will possess a mechanical aptitude, be self-motivated with a proven work ethic, have proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, and have 3+years experience with automated manufacturing equipment operation to include pilot membrane development.

responsibilities:
- Support the development of new membranes to be used in filtration products for the pharmaceutical industry
- Be involved in the operation and upkeep of prototype membrane equipment involving a variety of process steps
- Responsible for lab experiments involving sampling, and testing of prototypes.
- Conduct preliminary data analysis, communicate observations and issues to the engineers.
- 3+years of experience with automated manufacturing equipment operation
- Related experience in an R&D environment and/or pilot membrane development
- Experience in roll-to-roll processing and web handling; filtration device fabrication experience is nice to have.
- Proven mechanical aptitude, possess troubleshooting skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Utilize good laboratory habits and be able to follow SOPs, procedures, and protocols
