A Special Project Associate is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Wilmington, NC area. This job will support various experimental projects by initiating and executing runs, managing materials, and coordinating measurements while being proficient in basic computer skills and able to work well in a team environment.

responsibilities:
- Initiates, coordinates, and executes experiments across all plant areas.
- Manages experimental workflows for multiple projects.
- Performs small equipment modifications and setups.
- Supports experimental downtime work as needed.
- Coordinates specialized measurements on materials like canes, fiber, or blanks.
- Assists with shipping samples, canes, or blanks.
- Loads, unloads, and transports blanks on carts.
- Demonstrates attention to detail, flexibility, and a proactive attitude.
- Is self-motivated and self-directed.
- Proficient in computer software like Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Has good written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well in a team and with a diverse group of people.
- Understands and follows company safety policies.
- Is skilled in operating company equipment.
- Shows interest in development and experimentation.
- Is adaptable to change and willing to share ideas.
- Team player and able to work with a broad range of people.
