A Fire Alarm Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Boise, ID area. This role is for a design and construction-focused engineer who will be responsible for creating and implementing instrumentation and fire alarm systems for industrial facilities.

responsibilities:
- Designs and constructs instrumentation and fire alarm systems for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Manages the schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks.
- Provides on-site assistance during startup and coordinates with other team members.
- Produces designs for electrical circuits, panels, and control systems.
- Develops options and optimizations for process control, instrumentation, and automation.
- Must be able to generate complete I&C/LSS design packages with minimal supervision.
- Requires working knowledge of PLC, DCS, fire alarms, and life safety regulations.
- Experience with semiconductor fabrication facilities and reviewing vendor submittals is a plus.
- Field experience with subcontractors and construction personnel is desired.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, UL 508A, and NFPA 72 is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Siemens PLC and Edwards EST3/EST4 systems is preferred.
- Requires strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be forward-thinking, eager to learn, and able to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Fire Protection, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Requires at least 4 years of experience with Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) or Life Safety Systems (LSS).
- Must have an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
