An Instrumentation and Controls Specialist is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Boise, ID area. This role is for a design and construction-focused Instrumentation and Controls Discipline Specialist who will be responsible for creating and implementing I&C and life safety systems for a variety of industrial projects.

responsibilities:
- Creates complete Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) / Life Safety Systems (LSS) design packages.
- Works on design and construction projects for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Develops designs for electrical circuits, panels, and control systems.
- Provides on-site assistance during startup and coordinates work with other team members.
- Is accountable for the schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks.
- Must have working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications, as well as fire alarm and life safety regulations.
- Experience with semiconductor fabrication facilities and reviewing vendor packages is a plus.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, UL 508A, and NFPA 72 is desired.
- Requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a forward-thinking and collaborative team player with a passion for buildings and construction.
- Requires a Bachelor's or equivalent vocational degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Needs at least 4 years of experience with I&C / LSS.
- Ideally has an EIT or PE license and a Fire Alarm System NICET Certification.
