A Senior Logistics Coordinator is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Dekalb, IL area. This job is responsible for managing all aspects of transportation, from planning and carrier selection to shipment tracking and on-time delivery, while collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.

responsibilities:
Operational:
- Execute product transportation efficiently using available tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (customer service, carriers, etc.).
- Independently make informed decisions and escalate issues when needed.
- Support the company's operational plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Address and resolve conflicts professionally.
- Manage and analyze planning anomalies and non-routine problems.
- Validate plans and maintain accurate data.
- Connect appointments with transit times.
- Create optimized freight orders.
- Perform initial carrier selection and manage exceptions (rush requests, order changes, etc.).
- Handle day-to-day carrier management.
- Manage on-time pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments in transit and identify risks.
- Maintain accurate dates and appointments.
- Handle exceptions.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Communicate daily about successes and areas for improvement.
- Engage in continuous education on transportation and supply chain practices.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- High school diploma required; college education preferred.
- Must have a professional approach with customers.
- Experience in transportation and/or logistics is preferred.
- Experience in a fast-paced office environment.
