A Process Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Greenville, SC area. This role involve serving as a subject matter expert for designs in the oil and gas and alternative fuels/energy industries, which includes reviewing conceptual and detailed designs, solving complex engineering problems, and performing quality reviews.

responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) of designs for the oil and gas and alternative fuels/energy industries.
- Review conceptual and detailed designs for diverse industries, with emphasis on the oil and gas and alternative fuels/energy industries.
- Use best practices and industry knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines, project management, and clients to provide fully coordinated projects.
- Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others.
- Mentor junior engineers on basic engineering applications and principals.
- Participate in the development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
- Proficiency with simulation software like ASPEN Plus, ASPEN Batch, PRO/II, PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, and HTRI is preferred.
- Experience in relief device calculations, including complex scenarios.
- Familiarity with a wide range of unit operations such as Gasification, Syngas Processing, and various handling systems.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team.
- strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Must be forward-thinking, innovative, and a collaborative team player.
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering design for the oil and gas and alternative fuels/energy sectors.
- Minimum of 20 years of total experience in engineering design as a facilities/plant engineer or a consulting engineer.
- A Professional Engineer license is a plus.
