We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in a pivotal role with a clear path for upward career movement. This position is a crucial part of our long-term succession plan for a senior engineer who is retiring after 30 years with the company, offering a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional to step into a leadership role. You will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work, using your judgment to evaluate and adapt engineering techniques to devise new approaches to problems. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic self-starter who can provide structural engineering rigor while operating within contractual scope, budget, and schedule requirements on multiple concurrent projects.

responsibilities:
- Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience
- Layout and details portions of projects using schematic layout by project lead engineer
- Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by Designers/Drafters
- Research design options and document findings for project lead engineer
- Review shop drawings
- Coordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents
- Attend and participate in Client and Company meetings
- Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents
- Demonstrate capability and experience in managing and performing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Registered Florida professional engineer certification required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, desirable
- Minimum 10 years' experience in increasingly responsible structural engineering positions
- Federal project and task order experience (Defense and/or Civilian Agency), preferred
- LEED AP BD+C, a plus
