A Senior Packaging Engineer is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Bridgewater, NJ area. The role involves designing and developing new packaging solutions, evaluating new technologies to improve product performance and cost, and collaborating with various teams to ensure all solutions meet brand and regulatory standards.

responsibilities:
- Acquiring materials based on required specifications, price, and delivery schedule.
- Negotiating with key suppliers and periodically updating price lists and terms.
- Initiating purchase orders in alignment with standard procedures.
- Monitoring and resolving issues with supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and lead time.
- Identifying and qualifying new suppliers alongside quality and engineering teams.
- Ensuring supplier orders align with customer requirements for quality, price, and sustainability.
- Requires the ability to read technical drawings and understand standard procurement procedures.
- Proven experience with rigid plastic packaging technologies and processes.
- strong understanding of packaging equipment, filling technologies, and automation systems.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and regulatory requirements in packaging.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in packaging development, preferably in the food, beverage, or consumer goods industry.
