A Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This role is for a Structural Engineer who will support the design of projects by originating and checking structural calculations, specifications, and drawings and also requires a strong understanding of structural analysis, materials engineering, and relevant design codes.

responsibilities:
- Supporting the structural design for projects.
- Originating structural calculations, specifications, material requisitions, and technical reports.
- Checking design drawings and reviewing vendor information.
- Working in a team environment with other engineers.
- Designing structures using knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering.
- Preparing procurement and subcontract documents and performing bid evaluations.
- Providing support to other engineering disciplines on structural matters.
- Preparing or assisting with conceptual studies and proposals.
- Coordinating and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.
- Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T. or equivalent).
- Experience with Microsoft office programs, and other common computer programs.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Working knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, IBC and ASCE 7.
- Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles.
- Previous experience using structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or STAAD.Pro.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (or international equivalent) and
- 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience executing engineering and design with Tekla software.
- Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
- Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.
- Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Civil or Structural Engineering).
- Master's degree in Structural or related Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
