A leader in custom built enclosures for power generation equipment is seeking a talented and highly motivated Drafter/Technician to join their fast-paced engineering team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in supporting the engineering group by using SolidWorks to create intricate 3D parts, complex assemblies, and detailed drawings that are essential for quoting, design, and fabrication processes. responsibilities:
- Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision.
- Create drawings, models, and BOMs from written and verbal specifications obtained from Engineers.
- Work with Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation.
- Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule.
- Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain all revisions of project drawings.
- Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
- Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
- Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
- Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.
- High proficiency in 3D parametric modeling software, SolidWorks preferred.
- Ability to create 2D mechanical and structural drawings from 3D models.
- Ability to work under pressure with deadlines while having to multi-task multiple priorities.
- Ability to work successfully and collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Associate degree in computer-aided drafting and design, engineering technology or similar technical degree.
- At least two years of experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and how it relates to design.
- Hands on experience with 3D parametric modeling tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, PTC Creo, etc.).
