An SAP Maintenance Planner / Coordinator is needed for a leading manufacturing organization. The SAP Maintenance Planner / Coordinator is responsible for the accurate setup and ongoing maintenance of all asset-related data within the SAP system, including functional locations, parts master data, and inventory parameters. This pivotal role ensures that physical equipment and materials are properly structured and linked in SAP to support efficient maintenance planning and smooth operational execution.
The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude and proven experience as a Maintenance Planner, along with proficiency in SAP PM and MM modules. This includes specific expertise in functional location structuring, equipment hierarchy, and applying data analytics to set effective inventory control parameters like min/max stock levels. This is a contract opportunity slated to last 12-18 months and our client is only seeking local talent at this time.

responsibilities:
- Build and maintain detailed functional location hierarchies in SAP to mirror the physical layout of equipment
- Define and structure components within SAP will allow the client to create a robust inventory plan and implement an automated reorder system when parts stock levels are low
- Create and update Material Master records, verifying correct descriptions, units, and classification for parts
- Establish and adjust min/max stock levels based on equipment usage and historical consumption data to optimize inventory
- Interpret technical documentation (drawings, manuals, BOMs) to accurately assign parts to equipment and locations
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams to gather and validate SAP data setups
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies or errors in SAP related to parts, locations, and inventory
