A Facilities Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Hickory, NC area. This is a senior-level Facilities Engineering role, focused on the management and execution of facilities projects, equipment lifecycle planning, and the operation of plant support systems.

responsibilities:
- Develop and manage multi-year equipment upgrade/replacement plans.
- Manage facilities engineering projects.
- Develop and manage the preventative maintenance program for all plant support equipment (HVAC, Chillers, Compressed Air Systems, Plumbing, Power Distribution, Exhaust Fans, Roll-Up Doors, etc.).
- Develop, maintain, and upgrade Control Systems (Chilled Water, Water Filtration, Compound Delivery, Silos, BAS, Data Monitoring).
- Support maintenance on plant processing equipment.
- Manage and coordinate outside vendors/contractors for facility support (HVAC, Chillers, Roof, Roll-Up Doors, Cleaning, Plumbing, Exhaust Fans, Lawn Care, Snow Removal).
- Establish project plans (scope, schedule, cost, procurement, acceptance criteria) for facilities projects.
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot alarms for plant support systems (Chilled Water, Water Filtration, Compound Delivery, Silos, BAS, Data Monitoring).
- Provide project management and coordination for key facilities projects.
- strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or Inventor.
- Flexibility to learn new processes/equipment and desire to train on various systems (raw materials, pollution abatement, HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, BAS).
- strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- BS Degree in an Engineering field (Electrical preferred).
- Minimum 5 years in facilities-related project management and working with subcontractors.
- Minimum 3 years in Controls-related programming and troubleshooting.
