A Strategic Buyer Senior is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Greensboro, NC area. This senior-level strategic sourcing role involves driving cost reduction and implementing segment strategies within a commodity by managing strategic purchasing, negotiating complex contracts, leading supplier relationship management, analyzing market trends, and potentially coaching lower-level staff.

responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Cost Reduction: Initiate and drive sourcing initiatives and cost reduction efforts.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement the segment strategy within the area of responsibility (commodity).
- Strategic Purchasing: Drive strategic purchasing activities within the assigned commodity.
- Establish supplier relationship management (SRM) processes.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement goals/programs with suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
- Coordinate supplier integration plans with internal clients.
Internal Partnership: Partner with internal clients to:
- Identify sourcing needs.
- Develop buyer/market profiles.
- Identify marketplace trends.
- Define acceptable service levels.
- Transformation (Higher Level): May drive transformation initiatives such as digitalization and sustainability.
- Project & Process Management: Manage projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision.
- Coaching: Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
- Problem Solving: Address problems that are difficult and sometimes complex.
- Knowledge Application: Apply advanced knowledge typically obtained through education and 5 years of relevant work experience.
