Fiber Network Specialist with proven fiber project management and GIS experience needed for a 12-month, possible temp to hire role in Tucker, GA. Well respected electric utility services company is seeking a skilled Fiber Network Specialist with experience in fiber optic deployments, fiber field surveys, fiber design, preventative/corrective fiber maintenance activities and knowledgeable in GIS. Attention to detail is critical. This is a long-term contract (possible temp to hire) assignment in Tucker, GA. Experience with fiber network GIS management software or telecom network operations/engineering is a big plus.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the Fiber Network Design Specialist
- Assist coordinator with building and maintaining company's state-wide fiber optic network including small fiber optic implementations, testing, troubleshooting, reporting and assist the effort to create PGP's (process/guidelines/procedure) documentation
- Work alongside coordinator/engineering personnel to design and update digital documentation of both outside and inside plant network facilities to ensure accurate as-built delivery post commissioning
- Work alongside field personnel to help facilitate installation/maintenance needs and record mark-up documentation of both outside and inside plant network facilities to ensure accurate as-built delivery post commissioning
- Assist in producing reports/maps and managing GIS data using Esri ArcGIS and Enghouse Networks NetDesigner
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, GIS, or related professional work experience
- Candidate must have a understanding of fiber optic installations and equipment, including aerial/underground cabling, fiber splicing, patch panel terminations
- Ability to migrate data from various formats into the GIS environment, including diagrams, spreadsheets, as-built drawings, and field notes
- Exposure to field operations required
- Specific experience in Esri ArcGIS or similar application required
- Enghouse Networks NetDesigner or equivalent fiber network GIS management software experience
- Telecom network operations/engineering experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

- Database, Visio, Excel, Word, CAD experience
