A Supply Management Specialist is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Waterloo, IA area. This Supply Management Specialist role provides sourcing and supply chain support by executing contracts, conducting data analysis (spend, cost models, inventory, forecasts), managing raw casting supplier relationships, and focusing on continuous process improvement, requiring strong analytical and communication skills.

responsibilities:
- Focuses on developing/executing strategies and contracts for commodities of lower value/complexity.
- Assists with cost models, make vs. buy studies, spend analysis, invoice issue resolution, and other data analyses.
- Works with Strategic Sourcing to address chronic supplier performance issues and/or supplier validation during early selection (EPDP).
- Uses the Achieving Excellence process for supplier performance management.
- Work is entry-level, requires discretion/independent judgment, and is reviewed periodically.
- Executes planning activities within a defined framework/system in a supply chain of low complexity.
- Carries out a range of supplier management activities.
- Collates and analyzes data using preset tools and methods, working independently.
- Responds to routine functional inquiries by following procedures and precedents.
- Conducts complex analyses, quality tests, and inspections requiring a high level of independent judgment.
- strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities,self-starter,
- interest in developing relationships with suppliers/peer groups,
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing).
- Ability to learn Microsoft analytical tools, Tableau, and Power BI independently.
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Post-Secondary Non-Tertiary Education (first section).
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- Basic experience of simple office/operational systems (4-6 months),very limited related experience (0-3 months).
