A Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This position is an entry-to-mid-level role responsible for supporting project structural design by originating calculations, preparing technical documents, reviewing drawings, and collaborating with other disciplines, all while adhering to key industry codes.

responsibilities:
Design & Analysis:
- Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis (statics, dynamics, and materials engineering).
- Originates structural engineering deliverables (steel/concrete calculations, specifications, material requisitions).
- Prepares specifications and related documents.
- Reviews structural drawings and design details.
- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
- Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents.
- Performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
- Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Structural related matters.
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
- Assists in preparation of quantity takeoffs.
- Assists in constructability reviews.
Technical Expertise:
- Working knowledge and application of: AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, IBC & ASCE 7
- Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles.
- Previous experience using structural analysis software (e.g., GTSTRUDL or STAAD.Pro).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and other common computer programs.
Communication: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (or international equivalent).
Experience:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience with a relevant degree, OR
- 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced Education: Master's degree in Structural or related Engineering discipline.
- Software: Experience executing engineering and design with Tekla software.
- Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.
- Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and the Whole Building Design Guide.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in USA (Civil or Structural Engineering).
- Possess active security clearance.
