A Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This position is an entry-to-mid-level role responsible for supporting project structural design by originating calculations, preparing technical documents, reviewing drawings, and collaborating with other disciplines, all while adhering to key industry codes.

responsibilities:
Design & Analysis:

• Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis (statics, dynamics, and materials engineering).
  
  
• Originates structural engineering deliverables (steel/concrete calculations, specifications, material requisitions).

Documentation & Review:

• Prepares specifications and related documents.
  
  
• Reviews structural drawings and design details.
  
  
• Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.

Procurement & Support:

• Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents.
  
  
• Performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
  
  
• Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Structural related matters.

Coordination & Assistance:

• Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
  
  
• Assists in preparation of quantity takeoffs.
  
  
• Assists in constructability reviews.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

Technical Expertise:

• Working knowledge and application of: AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, IBC & ASCE 7
  
  
• Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles.
  
  
• Previous experience using structural analysis software (e.g., GTSTRUDL or STAAD.Pro).
  
  
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and other common computer programs.

Certifications: Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T. or equivalent).

Communication: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Education: Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (or international equivalent).

Experience:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience with a relevant degree, OR
  
  
• 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Education: Master's degree in Structural or related Engineering discipline.
  
  
• Software: Experience executing engineering and design with Tekla software.

Code/Specification:

• Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.
  
  
• Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and the Whole Building Design Guide.

Certifications/Clearance:

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in USA (Civil or Structural Engineering).
  
  
• Possess active security clearance.

Experience: Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
