A Senior Electrical Designer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This role will lead the planning, modeling, and documentation of electrical infrastructure (raceway, lighting, grounding, equipment) for DOD/USAF (Sentinel) projects, requiring expertise in SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD, AGI 32, ETAP, and NEC code, strong coordination skills.

responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work.
- Produce drawings and documentation and prepare design estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review key drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.
- Solve complex technical issues and ensure designs comply with all regulations and standards (NEC, NEMA/ANSI/IEEE).
- Position is for a SmartPlant 3D Designer.
- Prepare electrical 3D designs and 2D electrical AutoCAD and SmartSketch designs.
- Support new facility infrastructure design for DOD and USAF projects (Sentinel project).
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and review design work within a medium-size electrical design work group.
- Produce drawings for earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing (likely related to electrical infrastructure).
- Coordinate and interface with electrical engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters.
- Experience with an electronic Cable Management System like SETROUTE.
- Hands-on and advanced experience using Smartplant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD.
- Experience with electrical systems/equipment on nuclear, industrial, data centers, central utility plants, or complex buildings.
- Preferred experience with DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA project experience.
- Preferred experience with quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
- Ability to model piping, HVAC, and Mechanical equipment in Smartplant 3D (Level 2).
- AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 10-12 years (Level 1) or
- 13-15 years (Level 2) of experience (or 12-14/14-17 years of relevant work experience).
