A Senior Plant Designer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This experienced Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) Designer/Engineer proficient in Smart Plant S3D, to perform 3D modeling (piping, HVAC, equipment), floor plan preparation, and interference reconciliation for DOD/USAF GBSD program infrastructure, ensuring code compliance (ASME B31.3, IBC) and coordinating with engineering disciplines.

responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and review Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) work.
- Produce drawings and documentation and prepare design estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review/approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.
- Solve complex technical issues and ensure PD&P designs comply with all regulations and standards.
- Position is for a Smart Plant S3D Designer/Engineer.
- Prepare 3D designs associated with DOD and USAF projects (specifically the GBSD program EMD phase).
- Support the weapon system replacement for the Minuteman III missile systems.
- Responsible for direct production of design work and coordinating the scope and integration of work.
- Building layout in Smart Plant S3D model environment.
- Modeling of piping, HVAC, and equipment in the 3D model environment.
- Leads or administers work of PD&P designers and drafters.
- Develops designs for complete and complex systems (earthwork, drainage, foundation, steel detailing).
- Assists in constructing detailed scale models.
- Monitors and checks work for compliance and quality.
- Participates in constructability reviews.
- Plans, develops, coordinates, and reviews design work within a small-size PD&P work group.
- Coordinates and interfaces with PD&P technical staff.
- Communicates complex technical issues to upper management.
- Facilitates technical discussions with third parties.
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of PD&P design estimates and work plans.
- Hands-on experience using Smart Plant S3D.
- Previous company project experience.
- Previous DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, or USAF experience.
Level 1:
- Requires an AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with
- 7-8 years of experience (or 9-12 years of relevant work experience).
- Requires an AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with
- 10-12 years of experience (or 12-14 years of relevant work experience).
