A Senior Pipe Support Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This role is for a specialized Pipe Support Design Engineer responsible for locating and structurally designing pipe supports, performing complex calculations using software like GTStrudl, and ensuring all designs comply with codes such as ASME B31.3, AISC, and DoD UFC standards within a 3D modeling environment.

responsibilities:
- Piping System Design: Locating and designing supports for various piping systems.
- Calculations: Performing associated pipe support calculations.
- Coordination: Working closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver quality and cost-effective designs.
- Inter-Discipline Communication: Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
- Modeling: Prior experience working in a 3D model environment.
- Design Application: Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Independent Judgment: Using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications to standard methods.
- Structural Analysis: Performing pipe support structural analysis using GTStrudl.
- Code Compliance: Reviewing systems in accordance with DoD UFC standards, ASME B31.3, AISC, or other applicable codes.
- Deliverable Creation: Developing and applying typical pipe supports.
- Drawing/Calculation Generation: Creating pipe support calculations/drawings for engineered pipe supports as required.
- Document Review: Performing coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by other disciplines.
- Level I: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 5-8 years of relevant experience, OR 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Level II: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 8-10 years of relevant experience, OR 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Codes and Standards: Good knowledge of AISC, ASME B31.3, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
- Software: Prior experience using the GTStrudl structural analysis program.
- Security Clearance: Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Professional Certification: PE Registration (Professional Engineer).
- DoD Experience (Preferred): Previous DoD project experience for Risk Category 5 facilities.
