A Senior Structural Designer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This role will coordinate with engineers and third parties, ensure code compliance (ACI, Steel Construction), and contribute to cost estimates and constructability reviews.

responsibilities:
- Support the structural design for the project.
- Originate and check complex structural designs of concrete or steel.
- Review and coordinate vendor information.
- Lead technical discussions and constructability reviews.
- Produce drawings and documentation, including design of steel, concrete, reinforcing steel, cold-formed steel, anchor bolts, and detailing.
- Coordinate and interface with engineers on day-to-day technical work.
- Facilitate technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).
- Coordinate structural design work with other project groups.
- Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.
- Ensure structural systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
- Mentor structural designers via on-the-job training.
- Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines.
- Thorough knowledge of Detailing for Steel Construction, ACI Detailing Manual SPI-66, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications) and construction methods for concrete and steel structures.
- Understands work processes of other disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Broad knowledge of structural engineering design principles.
- Preferred: Active security clearance, prior experience with DOD/government agencies, experience with USACE CAD Standard, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)/Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG).
Level I:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree and
- 5-8 years of relevant experience (or 9-12 years of experience).

- Proficient in the use of TEKLA software for steel and reinforced concrete detailing.
