A Senior Pipe Stress Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This position is responsible for performing complex static and dynamic pipe stress analysis using Bentley AutoPipe in accordance with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 Codes to verify piping stability, flexibility, and equipment nozzle loads, while coordinating closely with support and layout engineers to optimize design.

responsibilities:
Core Duties & Analysis:
- Perform pipe stress analysis of piping systems using the Bentley AutoPipe software.
- Code Compliance: Perform analysis in accordance with the ASME B31.3 Code (Process Piping) and have a working knowledge of ASME B31.1 (Power Piping).
- Modeling & Verification: Model piping systems to verify: Piping flexibility, Piping stability & Qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Advanced Analysis: Working knowledge of dynamic analysis.
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with Layout personnel and Pipe Support Engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
- Review & Approval: Participate in reviews and recommend approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
- Methodology Application: Evaluate, select, and apply standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Problem Solving: Use independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications to procedures.
- Conflict Resolution: Analyze problems with conflicting design requirements, and sketch ideas and possible solutions.
- Unconventional Analysis: Analyze and report on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and/or difficult coordination requirements.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
- Level I: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 5-8 years of relevant experience, OR 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Level II: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 8-10 years of relevant experience, OR 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Software: Prior experience using the pipe stress analysis program Bentley AutoPipe.
- Code Expertise: Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.
- Certification (Preferred): EIT certification or PE registration.
- Project Experience (Preferred): Previous company and/or DOD/DOE project experience.
