Permitting Specialist needed in Morristown NJ for a leading engineering and construction company. This person will be responsible for coordinating with project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists, and real estate coordinators to prepare permit applications for railroad permitting to facilitate construction. Ideal candidates will have a bachelors degree and at least 4 years of experience.

responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists, and real estate coordinators to prepare permit applications for railroad permitting to facilitate construction impacts related to transmission line and substation expansion projects
- Complete and submit permit applications, and pursue application through timeframe until permit is issued or authorized
- Obtain permitting authorizations for all crossings related to linear transmission line projects, including but not limited to: railroad crossings and turnpike crossings
- Obtain entry and access permits
- Support environmental permitting tasks if requested
- Support fiber and communication permitting tasks if requested
- Interact with construction contractors for electrical transmission lines, fiber, road building, foundations, geotechnical, survey, and restoration with respect to permitting needs and have an understanding of railroad permitting compliance
- Support Client needs as directed
- Assist with document research
- Provide assistance to client on electrical distribution projects
