An Electrical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Wilmington, NC area. This is a hands-on Project Technician role, focused on electrical and mechanical support for the installation, startup, and troubleshooting of new or modified automated production equipment at manufacturing sites.

responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on installation support for new/modified production equipment.
- Provide mechanical and electrical discipline support for equipment construction, installation, debug, troubleshooting, and startup at manufacturing sites (domestic/international).
- Spend majority of time on the floor working on equipment.
- Supervise and direct internal maintenance and outside contract trades during equipment installation/conversion (demolition, construction, installation, testing, debug).
- Assist in developing and using project plans/timelines, ensuring safety, quality, and intellectual property adherence.
- Ensure project team safety training, analyze safety in job plans, meet safety requirements, identify potential safety issues, and report/investigate incidents.
- Develop understanding of process and equipment functions.
- Assess condition and usability of existing equipment for new installation plans.
- Execute initial equipment set-up and debug up to turnover to operations.
- Analyze and correct equipment installation practices to improve efficiencies and schedules.
- Knowledge of power systems (?480VAC).
- Ability to determine and recommend best solutions.
- Translate engineering solutions to designs.
- Interpret electrical drawings/schematics.
- Work with other disciplines (IT, Mechanical, Process).
- Hands-on ability with tools/instruments.
- AAS/BS Electrical Engineering Technology, BS Electrical Engineering, or similar degree (or equivalent experience)
- With 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
