A Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Corning, NY area. This job seeks a skilled individual with a minimum of 3 years of lab/industrial experience in maintaining and installing vacuum deposition equipment, requiring knowledge of electrical, cooling, and gas systems, and experience with PLC controllers often in a cleanroom environment.

responsibilities:
- Facilitate Connections: Connect vacuum deposition equipment to electrical power, cooling water, gases, and exhaust.
- Equipment Functionality: Work in both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
- Testing & Diagnostics: Perform basic operational testing and diagnostics of vacuum deposition and similar equipment.
- Control Systems: Install and update PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and similar controllers on equipment.
- strong knowledge of electrical systems, cooling water, and gas facilitation.
- Proven experience with PLC installation and maintenance.
- Ability to perform basic operational testing and diagnostics.
- Experience with CAD software or similar (preferred).
- Soft Skills: strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
