A Senior Life Safety Systems Designer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Austin, TX area. This hybrid role seeks a Senior LSS Drafter / BIM Designer to utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to coordinate and assist in the complex 3D modeling and layout creation for Fire Alarm Detection, Toxic Gas Management, and Security systems, leveraging strong code knowledge (ideally).

responsibilities:
- Role Purpose: Deliver complex packages in coordination with multi-discipline engineers and design leads for the Life Safety Systems delivery team.
- 3D Modeling: Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create a 3D model space in coordination with architects and engineers.
- Fire Alarm Detection Systems
- HPM (Hazardous Production Material) Leak Detection
- Toxic Gas Management Systems
- Security and Intrusion detection systems
Design Experience: 3-5 years of systems design experience.
Code Knowledge: Knowledge of key industry codes:
- IFC (International Fire Code) and IBC (International Building Code).
- NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
- NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
- NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
Industry Experience: Industrial design experience.
Certification: Autodesk Certification Professional (ACP) or other drafting technologies certifications.
