A Structural Discipline Specialist is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Indianapolis, IN area. This leadership role is for a P.E.-licensed Civil/Structural Engineer with 12+ years of experience and advanced STAAD/Revit proficiency, who will be accountable for the discipline leadership, technical quality, and schedule delivery of structural design for steel and concrete systems in complex industrial and pharmaceutical projects, while also mentoring junior staff.

responsibilities:
- Discipline Leadership: Provide overall discipline leadership for the structural design and documentation across various projects.
- Quality & Schedule Oversight: Support the Department Manager by ensuring Structural Design and Engineering deliverables meet quality expectations and schedules.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced personnel.
- Encourage and mentor less experienced personnel with their career advancement.
- Assist management with structural staff forecasting (balancing resources, loaning/borrowing staff, or shifting work).
- Assist in the evaluation and employee performance feedback.
- Assist in project proposals by ascertaining scope and determining required engineering/design budgets.
Technology Advancement: Promote the global data centric tool initiative and assist the team in growing technical competency.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Licensure: Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (required).
Experience:
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in engineering design of building structural systems.
- Specific industry experience in pharmaceutical, industrial, or chemical facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the structural design for steel and concrete structures on various projects.
- Solid working knowledge of building codes and other applicable structural codes.
- Advanced working proficiency in STAAD and STAAD Pro.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navis.
- Must have previous leadership and mentoring experience for structural engineers and designers.
- Should display strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
