A Senior Electrical Engineer - Principal Electrical Engineer is needed for a leading EPC organization. The Principal Electrical Engineer is responsible to lead the design and analysis of complex power generation, distribution, and microgrid systems for key clients. This role involves comprehensive electrical system design, technical coordination across disciplines, and managing project scope from concept through completion.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) registration (or the ability to obtain one within a year). Proficiency with electrical modeling software such as ETAP or SKM is essential for this role. This is a hybrid role, an candidates can work in any of our clients national offices including Austin, Phoenix, Denver, Minneapolis, or Chicago.

responsibilities:
- Design and layout medium and low voltage power distribution, microgrids, and power plant facilities
- Perform computer modeling and analysis of electrical systems, including lighting and grounding with ETAP or SKM
- Prepare detailed equipment specifications, schematic diagrams, and wiring diagrams
- Manage the design budget and schedule, coordinating technical efforts across team disciplines
- Review and perform engineering calculations, ensuring code compliance and design integrity
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment selection, sizing, and specification
