A Maintenance Manager / Head of Maintenance is needed for a leading food manufacturing organization near Harrisonburg, VA. The Head of Maintenance will lead the strategic direction, planning, and execution of maintenance operations across two poultry facilities. This role is critical for establishing a proactive maintenance culture, ensuring optimal equipment reliability across our processing and packaging lines, and developing a high-performing team focused on growth and excellence.
The ideal candidate will possess proven success in multi-site leadership, strategic planning, and driving continuous improvement, preferably within food manufacturing. A core requirement is the ability to build a team structure that emphasizes planning and strategy.

responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term, proactive maintenance strategies to replace reactive work
- Directly manage the entire maintenance staff, including building out a dedicated planning group
- Oversee maintenance execution, budgets, and capital projects across both manufacturing sites
- Lead efforts to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize asset performance
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations (OSHA, etc.) and champion safety programs
- Collaborate with Operations to align maintenance priorities directly with production goals
