Our client is seeking an experienced Sr. Preconstruction Engineering Manager responsible for overseeing all pre-construction aspects of various gas-fired combined and simple cycle combustion turbine power development projects. The position requires a blend of technical engineering expertise and project management skills to ensure projects are de-risked and prepared for the construction phase. responsibilities:
- Execute and manage the preconstruction scope of work for gas-fired combined and simple cycle combustion turbine power development projects.
- Lead preliminary engineering for projects during early development stages.
- Conduct critical issues analysis to systematically de-risk projects.
- Oversee preliminary design reviews, site surveys, and environmental coordination.
- Develop Class 5, 4, and 3- project estimates and support EPC procurement.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and engineers to resolve design and constructability challenges.
- Obtain necessary pre-construction permits and prepare for project handover to construction.
- 7+ years of experience in project management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with pre-construction initiatives in the utility-scale power generation industry preferred.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills, including with non-technical audiences.
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
