A Transportation Analyst is needed in the Cranbury, NJ area for one of the world's largest cosmetics company, with activities spanning skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfume, hair care and hair color. This Transportation Analyst is responsible for owning and executing complex analytics and reporting on service, cost, and carrier performance within a dynamic supply chain network, requiring strong Excel skills.

responsibilities:
- Serves as the process owner for service, volumetric, and project analytics related to the physical flow of company products.
- Responsible for managing and analyzing delivered service across a complex and dynamic transportation network.
- Conducts analytics on end-to-end costing alternatives.
- Measures carrier, vendor, and customer performance against service and cost targets.
- Supports business requirements gathering for the carrier and provider network.
- Conducts analytics to support contractual negotiations, transportation RFPs, and sourcing initiatives.
- Leverages data to drive efficiencies, optimizations, and delivery solutions.
- Analyzes freight flow for cost reduction and service improvement opportunities.
- Provides routine, ad hoc, and executive-level reporting and analytics with high attention to detail and quality.
- Responsible for the presentation and interpretation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and leading indicators.
- Builds partnerships with key service providers and organizes routine performance reviews.
- Publishes carrier scorecards and drives process improvement activities.
- Identifies gaps in carrier lane coverage and partners with carriers to meet commitments.
- Requires demonstrated analytical competency and understanding of general transportation processes.
- Must have strong Excel and MS Office skills, data visualization competency is preferred.
- Possesses a working knowledge of transportation, distribution, and broader supply chain concepts.
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Experience in retail/CPG transportation or with a carrier, and prior multi-site operations experience are preferred.
