An Associate Engineer is needed in the Somerset, NJ area for one of the world's largest cosmetics company, with activities spanning skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfume, hair care and hair color. This role for an Engineering graduate involves technical support and compliance within the dermo-cosmetics labs, focusing on testing products, recording data in SAP, and ensuring FDA/ISO regulatory standards are met for all formulas.

responsibilities:
- Quality & Regulatory Support: Provide technical support to Quality Laboratories to meet Quality System and regulatory requirements.
- Test and inspect bulk batches and finished goods per company DGO methods and specifications.
- Tests include Color/odor/appearance, centrifuge, microscope, pH, viscosity, and others.
- Record test results in SAP and issue NCMRs (Non-Conformance Material Reports) as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Bulk Lab Chemists and Process Engineers to support business priorities.
- Assist in maintaining bulk releasing status.
- Enter and/or check off BOM (Bill of Materials) of formulations in SAP.
- Facilitate submission of first production samples to the Research & Innovation team for approval.
- Initiate and monitor stability testing for new formulations, new procedures, or manufacturing vessel/line changes.
- Prepare bench pilot batches for color-matched products to ensure composition and consistency before first production runs.
Over-the-Counter (OTC) Compliance:
- Write Performance Qualification protocols for OTC validation (formulas making an active ingredient claim).
- Review batch records for OTC products.
- Ensure all quality system documents and records are maintained properly.
- Maintain calibrated laboratory test equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping in labs and work areas.
- Safety: Observe the plant's safety and quality requirements.
- Other: Perform other duties as necessary or required.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
Technical Compliance (Highly Desirable): Experience with compliance to FDA and ISO guidelines, including SOPs, auditing, and documentation requirements.
