A Construction Purchaser is needed for a company that sells ready-to-assemble furniture, textiles, lighting and home decor in the Conshohocken, PA area. This role is responsible for providing "Best Value" procurement and full cradle-to-grave contract management (formation, negotiation, administration, change orders) for Real Estate/Construction projects, while ensuring compliance and driving supplier performance.

responsibilities:
- Provides professional procurement services for Real Estate, Construction, and Facilities-related projects and operations.
- Supports business partners with the procurement of products, consultant services, construction, and construction management.
- Controls, organizes, conducts, and documents purchase activities within Property/Construction.
- Ensures compliance with applicable working methods, procedures, guidelines, and company Values.
- Drives contract negotiations and supports the change order process.
- Secures legal compliance, contract structure, and content.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities, professionally challenging established methods and technical solutions.
- Contributes to product/service improvements and lower total cost through optimizing the value chain.
- Professionally challenges suppliers to improve performance across all aspects.
- Contributes to cost and spend reporting.
- Proficiency in the formation, negotiation, award, and administration of all contract types is required.
- Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices and contract administration (including change management and dispute resolution).
- Requires basic legal knowledge related to construction and project-related contracts.
- Must have excellent computer skills and experience with project management and web-based procurement platforms.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses strong business drive, is results-oriented, and has strong coordination and collaboration skills.
- Capable of taking the right business decisions through business analysis, risk assessment, and scenario planning.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Requires 5-7 years of experience.
