This Civil Engineer position in Project Engineering requires an ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree (ideally Civil/Structural), a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and extensive experience in structural design, code application (IBC/AISC/ACI), and contract document development to provide engineering leadership for various power generation and gas facility projects across Michigan. responsibilities:
- Provides engineering leadership for Energy Resources (ER) projects (renewables, hydro, coal, gas generation, compression/storage).
- Projects include new generation, environmental, plant modifications, and maintenance.
- Works within a multidiscipline Project Engineering group.
- Applies leadership, sound engineering judgment, organizational skills, and clear communication to coordinate the project Scope of Work.
- Will be involved in several projects with varying degrees of involvement.
- Works in a team setting as a lead and/or support engineer.
- Performs moderately complex assignments applying standard engineering theory, procedures, and criteria.
- Must independently evaluate, select, and apply engineering theory and use judgment in adaptations and modifications.
- Must work efficiently on small and large project teams reporting to several Project Managers.
- Working knowledge of Civil/Structural codes (IBC/MBC, AISC, ACI 318, AWS D1.1, ASCE 7).
- Experience with structural engineering software (RISA3d, SAP2000, STAAD, etc.).
- Previous design experience with building and non-building structures.
- Experience coordinating and developing contract documents (engineering drawings/technical specifications).
- Bachelor's Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program, ideally in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- Experience in design and contract administration.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (Strongly preferred/Required).
