A Senior Electrical Designer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. The role involves developing complex electrical designs, using tools like SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD, AGI 32, and ETAP, ensuring compliance with NEC/IEEE standards, and mentoring junior staff.

responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, review, and prepare electrical engineering design work, drawings, and documentation.
- Lead/administer the work of electrical designers and drafters, including preparing layouts, 2D/3D models, and construction drawings.
- Develop complex electrical engineering system designs (e.g., foundation, steel detailing, earthwork, drainage) with minimum supervision.
- Model electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, duct bank, lighting, receptacles, etc. in Smartplant 3D.
- Create Bill of Materials (BOMs) and drawing installation details (grounding, lightning protection, supports) using SmartSketch and AutoCAD.
- Produce physical design drawings (layouts, plans, elevations) for raceway, equipment, lighting, lightning protection, and grounding.
- Develop material specifications using the SpecsIntact software.
- Knowledge & application of NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE Standards.
- Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database.
- Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
- Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings for electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building electrical systems.
- Hands-on and advanced experience using Smartplant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD.?
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
- Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles.
- strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and layouts.
- Knowledge of company Corporate guides and standards.
- AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 7-8 years of experience, or
- 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
