A Controls Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. This is a Controls Technician role which requires PLC (Allen Bradley/Rockwell) experience to provide 2nd level technical support and independently execute projects, especially for new production line installations in a manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd level technical expertise in PLC controls-based troubleshooting, Controls hardware, and wiring specifically in support of new production line installation.
 - Follow direction from a Sr Controls Engineer.
 - Enhance manufacturing capabilities through the implementation of new ideas and methods.
 - Independently execute project objectives to fulfill overall project goals and milestones.
 
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems and structured programming.
 - Knowledge of controls systems design, hardware, and troubleshooting.
 - Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
 - strong written & oral communications skills.
 - Actively participate in all phases of projects including design, fabrication, off-line integration and testing, installation, production start-up support, training of plant personnel and technology transfer.
 - Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision.
 
- Desired AAS or Higher.
 - 3 additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of formal education (for a total of 10).
 - 4+ Years working with PLCs-Allen Bradley, Rockwell preferred HMIs, drives, and safety systems and structured programming, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
