An energy technology company is hiring an Application Engineer in Parsippany, NJ. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience in gas turbine hardware design and manufacturing (specifically Hot Gas Path components) to drive continuous quality improvement, cost reduction, and non-conformance dispositioning using skills like GD&T, Ansys/NX, and Lean principles in a collaborative global environment. This is a 12 months contract position.

responsibilities:
- Partner with Global Supply Chain (GSC) and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements and manage hardware non-conformances while ensuring optimal customer quality.
- Support hardware qualifications for new processes, changes, or equipment.
- Apply design and manufacturing knowledge to implement ideas that enhance part function, reduce cost, and add value.
- Participate in Supply Chain Kaizens and Lean Action Workouts.
- Support Design for Producibility, lean flow, and Concurrent Engineering.
- Proactive Quality engagement for defect reduction and process improvements.
- Support Qualification guidelines, specifications, and address top manufacturing issues.
- Technology development and qualification of special processes (castings, coating, holedrilling, etc.).
- Cultivate teamwork, a positive working environment, and drive a sense of urgency and quality.
- Relevant mechanical engineering experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery (specifically hot gas path components).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings.
- Previous non-conformance dispositioning experience using mechanical engineering assessments.
- Familiarity with Ansys, NX, and other analytical tools.
- Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
