An energy technology company is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer in Greenville, SC. This role is required to support the Site Leader by digitizing historical test/site records (a critical, long-term project) and managing all administrative duties, including site file maintenance, ordering supplies, coordinating work, and performing test-day operations security and visitor/traffic control, requiring organizational, communication, and security management skills. This is a 12 months contract position.

responsibilities:
- Focus on unit assembly support for all Gas Turbine (GT) products.
- Deliver optimal solutions for customers with a focus on defect reduction and qualifications.
- Analyze and disposition non-conformances (deviant hardware).
- Perform hand calculations and Ansys FEA as needed.
- Own specific actions related to engineering drawing revisions.
- Apply lean principles to drive productivity.
- Help solve major challenges in GT engine construction.
- Deliver high-quality solutions and design support for Corrective Actions (CAs) to prevent repeat incidents.
- Conceive innovative ideas to solve manufacturing and design problems.
- Leverage CAD and FEA for analysis supporting dispositions, redesigns, and improved manufacturability.
- Requires proficiency in CAD software.
- Requires strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Requires knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Requires excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Stay current on new technology introduction (NTI), new product introduction (NPI), and emerging fleet services issues.
- Drive technical rigor and integrity in all aspects of design and post-design work.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Quality, Design, Systems, etc.).
