Our client, a leader in the Electronic Manufacturing Services is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Technician - Day shift 8-5pm M-F at their Salt Lake City Location. Key qualifications include, 7+ years of related experience at a manufacturing company. An associates degree in a relevant field is required.

responsibilities:
- Training & Compliance: Conduct training (including new-employee orientations and use of safety equipment) and evaluate workplace practices and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
- Inspections & Monitoring: Regularly inspect workplace environments, evaluate conditions (ventilation, lighting, fire prevention), and conduct specialized monitoring programs (noise surveys, atmosphere monitoring).
- Incident Response & Prevention: Participate in accident investigations to determine root causes (furniture, machinery, etc.) and recommend preventative measures; this includes ordering the suspension of hazardous activities.
- Hazardous Materials Management: Collect samples of dust, gases, and other potentially toxic/hazardous materials for analysis, and prepare waste (hazardous, radioactive, mixed) for safe transportation and storage.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Document audit and inspection tracking, maintain emergency response plans, and collaborate with engineers and physicians to implement control measures for hazardous conditions.
