Large utility is looking for a Project Engineer in Jackson, MI. This role requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2-5 years of experience, leveraging strong project management and engineering design skills to efficiently manage the design, execution, and documentation of High Voltage Distribution (HVD) Lines Reliability projects. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm.

responsibilities:
- The Project Engineer is critical for ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Develop and manage design plans for HVD Lines Reliability projects.
- Review and approve invoices related to contracted design work.
- Track and report project metrics including schedule, budget, and quality KPIs.
- Manage and process change orders to ensure proper documentation and approvals.
- Oversee permit management to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Address and resolve questions from the field to support project execution.
- Ensure AFC (Approved for Construction) documents are properly managed with Document Control.
- strong knowledge of project management principles and engineering design processes.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively across teams.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
- 2-5 years of engineering or project management experience, preferably in the utility or energy sector.
