A Systems Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. This is a Systems Engineer role focusing on design, testing, and integration of MH-60M/MH-47G cockpit avionics (CAAS) for US Army Special Operations, requiring collaboration and use of specific engineering tools.

responsibilities:
- Perform design, requirements, validation, & verification for MH-60M and MH-47G cockpit avionics for US Army Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs.
- Execute on-site, requirements-based, robustness, and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility needed during formal test phases).
- Support cross-functional team development with external customers and internal software/hardware teams for Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) builds.
- Utilize engineering tools including TNT, DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft, and SVN.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Working knowledge / understanding of data busses and protocols (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429).
- Military Avionics Experience.
- Experience with TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA and/or Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
