A Mechanical Fire Protection Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This Fire Protection Engineering role will be supporting the Sentinel Program (DOD nuclear infrastructure) and provides technical leadership by creating design documents (FPDAR, UFGS), calculations, and specifications.

responsibilities:
- Role supports the Sentinel Program (modernizing U.S. nuclear deterrent triad ground infrastructure).
- Focuses on preparing design and procurement documents for Fire Protection systems.
- Provides technical leadership in the design and development of fire protection systems/equipment.
- Develops calculations, construction drawings, and Fire Protection Design Analysis Reports (FPDAR).
- Develops tailored Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
- Prepares requisition specifications.
- Reviews and approves sub-contractors' submittals.
- Assists in determining needed changes and with final testing.
- Leads the implementation of programs and procedures that promote fire safety.
- Requires strong organization, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a can-do attitude.
- Executes assignments in Fire Protection Engineering for the Sentinel (GBSD) project.
- Has technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and coordinating Fire Protection issues with internal/external stakeholders.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working on DoD government projects and Unified Facilities Criteria is required.
- Experience using Specs Intact to tailor UFGS is required.
Level 1:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering (or related) with
- 1-2 years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering (or related) with
- 2-5 years of experience.
