A Material Coordinator is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Milan, IL area. This is a role focused on maintaining and coordinating the flow of parts (including implementing SAP/EWM), supervising pickers, troubleshooting inventory shortages, managing production schedules, and using warehouse systems.

responsibilities:
- Coordinates the flow of materials and the filling of Kanbans within a factory department (may include shipping/receiving).
- Ensures production personnel have the necessary parts to produce the desired product.
- Oversees and ensures inventory accuracy and timeliness; identifies problems and suggests improvements to production schedules.
- Ensures material logistics follow the company's Production Systems principles.
- Coordinates the tactical execution of a production plan within a smaller factory group.
- Coordinates department schedule performance for procuring, expediting, and moving rejected material.
- Recommends procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and management.
- Finds root cause of material shortages and may provide recommendations for solutions.
- Utilizes the Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedules.
- May process transactions for inbound/outbound materials.
- Will work occasionally in Excel, but primarily in the company's mainframe/menu driven systems: DNS (Dealer Network System) and WCS.
- Exceptional data entry speed/accuracy is required.
- Must maintain focus and perform work for long periods.
- Self-motivated to help coworkers during lull times.
- Experience with inventory systems/tools/AS400 program is extremely beneficial for troubleshooting inventory issues.
- Attention to detail, timeliness, and excellent attendance are key.
