Leading engineering firm in Chesapeake, VA is seeks a Structural Engineer with waterfront experience to lead the design process for maritime projects, managing them from conception through completion. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing engineering documents, leading client presentations and contract administration, overseeing crucial field inspections, and serving as a dedicated mentor to guide junior engineers and designers. PE is preferred. EIT is required.

responsibilities:
- Work with Senior Civil/Structural Engineers and lead the civil/structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Design and analyze civil/structural components for a variety of projects.
- Apply advanced knowledge of commonly used civil/structural engineering design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
- Conduct research and compile project-related data, studies, and reports.
- Lead client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
- Perform and oversee field inspections, measurements, and calculations.
