A Project Manager is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Dublin, VA area. This job leads the complete lifecycle of industrial tooling and equipment projects, from strategic procurement and vendor negotiation to final installation and commissioning, ensuring all manufacturing upgrades meet safety, budget, and operational performance standards.

responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for tooling and equipment
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and maintenance
- Collaborate with suppliers during the planning phase
- Monitor project progress and track milestones
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Source and evaluate suppliers for tooling and industrial equipment
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms
- Ensure cost-effective procurement strategies
- Manage vendor relationships effectively
- Oversee compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of industrial equipment and tooling
- Ensure adherence to safety standards during installation
- Comply with regulatory requirements throughout the process
- Validate equipment performance against specifications
- Handover fully operational equipment to the operations team
- Track project costs on an ongoing basis
- Ensure adherence to approved budgets
- Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders and management
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution
- Focus on increasing cost efficiency
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Have at least 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Demonstrate proven expertise in tooling and industrial equipment procurement
- Show experience with equipment installation projects
- Possess strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Understand equipment specifications thoroughly
- Exhibit excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Demonstrate proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or SAP
- Display strong communication and leadership abilities
- Hold a PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Have experience with lean manufacturing principles
- Demonstrate familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives
