responsibilities:
- Functions as a Lead Project Engineer/Principal Program Engineer in a team setting.
- Provides support to project managers and leads engineering tasks/deliverables.
- Focuses on the planning, design, quality, testing, and execution of complex, strategic projects for Electric Distribution.
- Supports Economic Development projects and major electric distribution system rebuilds.
- Ensures technical project work scope is properly coordinated among internal/external engineers, vendors, fabricators, and contractors.
- Manages multiple moderate to complex engineering assignments using standard techniques and theory.
- Oversees multiple initiatives, plans projects, establishes project criteria, and coordinates project reviews.
- Schedules, plans, forecasts, resources, and manages all technical activities to ensure accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
- Responsible for team deliverables and overseeing the work of lower-level engineers/technicians.
- Builds strong partnerships, understands business goals, and interprets client needs/requirements in the field.
- Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Requires analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Requires excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD.
- Requires proficiency in MS Office and aptitude for learning new software.
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Requires organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Requires a strong understanding of engineering.
- Electrical Engineering background is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Project Management Information Systems (Unifier) and Document Control tools (ProjectWise) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles and skills is a plus.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or a non-ABET degree plus a Professional Engineering license.
- Requires 7-10 years of experience as a Program Engineer, working in advanced projects.
