Large utility is looking for a Senior Engineer in Jackson, MI. This Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience to utilize analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills to provide I&C design support and manage all consulting activities (SOW, RFQs, technical reviews) for high-voltage electric distribution substation projects. responsibilities:
- Delivers comprehensive, multi-discipline engineering design and leadership for high-voltage electric distribution (HVD) projects.
- Supports both in-house and consultant-led designs for new construction, upgrades, repairs, and modifications.
- Key focus areas include I&C Designs (schematics, wiring), project scoping, AC/DC load studies, procurement, and construction support.
- Supports capital projects across the service territory.
- Supporting consulting RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Leading/participating in meetings with consultants to maintain targets.
- Maintaining and improving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including quality and schedule.
- Requires relevant experience.
- Requires proficiency in basic computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite.
- Requires excellent analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must work well independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting.
