Top engineering firm in Newton, MA outside of Boston is looking to add an experienced Electrical Engineer or Designer within the Distirbution space. This role will develop comprehensive overhead and underground construction packages, including feeder designs and equipment installations. Perform critical technical calculations-such as pole loading and voltage drop-ensuring strict adherence to NESC and utility standards. This role combines field inspections and data research with the creation of detailed design sketches, cost estimates, and project communications. Great company with upward mobility.

responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Design Engineering: Develop comprehensive overhead and underground construction packages, including new feeder designs, equipment specs, and cable/feeder replacements.
- Technical Analysis & Calculations: Perform critical engineering checks, including pole loading, voltage drop, and cable pulling calculations to ensure structural and electrical integrity.
- Project Documentation: Prepare detailed design sketches, accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), and cost estimates to facilitate procurement and construction.
- Field Inspection & Data Research: Conduct on-site evaluations of utility assets to verify existing conditions and compile technical data for project stakeholders.
- Regulatory & Stakeholder Coordination: Ensure compliance with NESC standards while managing project logistics like vegetation management, third-party attachments, and outage planning.
