Seeking a Senior Sitework Estimator to serve as a cornerstone of the pre-construction team. This is a high-impact role designed for a seasoned professional who excels at transforming complex civil construction plans into precise, competitive bids. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the estimating process, focusing on diverse projects that include site preparation, deep excavation, earth support systems, and essential utility infrastructure for both public and private developments.
In this position, you will act as a vital bridge between the office and the field. You will collaborate daily with project managers, owners, and subcontractors to ensure that every bid is not only accurate but also strategically sound. We are looking for a leader who brings a mastery of production rates and labor requirements to the table, ensuring that our projects are set up for operational success from day one.

responsibilities:
- Perform detailed, quality take-offs for sitework and civil construction projects including site preparation, deep excavation and earth support, utilities roadways and finishes on public and private projects
- Analyze and review construction plans, addendums, schematics for accurate plan takeoff.
- Conduct on-site evaluations to assess project requirements, existing conditions, and potential risks.
- Review and present estimates to senior management
- Conducts site visits and attends pre-bid meetings to understand the project scope
- Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly, promptly and efficiently and that client expectations are achieved throughout the duration of the pre-bid, bid and construction process.
- Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
- Prepare cost comparisons and reconciliations with previous estimates.
- Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
- Ensure all estimating work complies with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Related Field or Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of construction estimating experience (heavy civil, commercial, or industrial depending on your company).
- Estimator must comprehend the labor, equipment and appurtenances and production rates required for bidding each individual project.
- Estimator must be able to prepare a construction schedule for the bid if it is a requirement.
- Estimator must be highly motivated; detail oriented, well organized, and willing to be a team player.
- Proficient and professional with verbal, written and electronic forms of communication.
- Applicant will need to be adept with the use of Microsoft Office Suites, including Project and Dropbox
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in hand takeoff i.e., w/ an engineering scale and w/Bluebeam and/or other takeoff software. Proficiency w/Heavy Bid bidding software or Agtek is preferred.
- The position will be salaried and for full time employment. The minimum work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5pm; however, extended hours will be necessary depending on bid workload.
