A Senior Pipe Support Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Reston, VA area. This role involves designing and calculating piping supports using GTStrudl and 3D modeling software while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with AISC and ASME standards in a hybrid work environment.

responsibilities:
- Perform modeling and pipe support calculations using GTStrudl software.
- Apply knowledge of common pipe support hardware and industry standards.
- Adhere to relevant codes including AISC, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.1.
- Check and review piping isometrics using span tables.
- Collaborate with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers for cost-effective designs.
- Coordinate work activities with other engineering disciplines and vendors.
- Review and check design work performed by other team members.
- Utilize 3D modeling environments for the placement of pipe supports.
- Execute lead activities and responsibilities as required by the project.
- Possess an AA/AS degree or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 7 to 8 years of experience.
- Alternatively, provide 9 to 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Maintain working knowledge of AISC structural code and ASME piping codes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer frame analysis, with a preference for GTStrudl.
