A Project Cost Analyst is needed for a world class utility company in the New Albany, OH area. This Project Cost Analyst role focuses on the end-to-end financial management of utility projects and will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, while coordinating with vendors and Project Managers to ensure all costs align with corporate standards and project schedules.

responsibilities:
- Coordinates project cost analysis, controls, and reporting for multiple intermediate-level projects.
- Monitors project budgets to ensure accurate financial depiction and updates forecasts regularly.
- Inputs budget data into corporate systems and performs variance analysis at program and project levels.
- Tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implements project management best practices.
- Creates work orders and interfaces with external contractors and vendors for budget integration.
- Supports Project Managers in preparing project documentation, cash flow spending, and planning.
- Performs estimate vs. actuals analysis and assists with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to establish time-phased baseline budgets and project breakdown structures.
- Manages the full work order lifecycle from initial creation through in-servicing and closing.
- Analyzes unvouchered liabilities (UVLs) and maintains current project system records.
- Participates in the contracting process, including bidding activities and cost tracking.
- Communicates budgetary status and technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ability to manage time effectively and efficiently and demonstrate organizational and planning skills, as well an aptitude for accuracy, attention to detail and ability to achieve goals.
- Demonstrates a basic level of technical knowledge related to writing and verbal communication.
- Proficient in use of computer and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Team player with ability to work and collaborate well with others.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience or
- An Associate's degree with 3 years of experience.
- Demands a well-rounded background in budgeting, forecasting, and general accounting principles.
